Why the Grand OLD Man failed???

One question is there that continues to baffle whole of the nation. The question is- How the Grand Old Man of India, Indian National Congress reached to such a horrendous state. How did a party with so many talented and shrewd people reached in such a deplorable state? Why the party with country’s strongest family is today abusing its present condition?

Some decades ago there was an opinion among the people of the nation that except Nehru- Gandhi family, no one is able to govern the nation. But this opinion today holds no ground among the intellectual people today. Today with the rising of so many leaders and receding of Congress in so many areas either due to corruption or the rising of new regional parties, the whole INC is facing a tough and intolerable competition which definitely takes a hard beating. Today Congress’ s biggest antagonist if Narendra Modi. Narendra Modi strong image among people and court’s decision exonerating him from the Godhra 2002 Case, have made the competition tougher for the lagging behind Congress. With Modi- Modi and Namo everywhere Congress has started watching nightmares. Something more that has added fuel to fire is the direct competition between Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi and if Narendra Modi gets accomplished in snatching away two consecutive terms from INC, then the political future of Rahul Gandhi would also be jeopardized.

Millions today has started loathing INC due to its corruption record. Corruption at different levels has left no stone unturned in discrediting the INC. With revelations of different scams like 2G, CWG and Coal Gate during the tenure of UPA-II have seriously injured the public opinion about the Indian National Congress and with the disclosure of suspected involvement of Prime Minister of India Dr.  Manmohan Singh in the Coal Gate scam has also exacerbated the whole problem. BJP’s Prime Minister candidate Narendra Modi has a clear and untainted image which can help the opposition very well to win the game and with his robust image as a good leader which has been formed on the basis of the development and growth being portrayed by Gujarat under his leadership has made Narendra Modi and BJP and much better option.

The other thing due to which people have got bored by this party is due to the Nehru-Gandhi surname being attached to the party. Some voters have been alienated from the party because they have got fed up of the fact that nothing can be done in the party without the permission of people from Nehru-Gandhi family and that’s why some people are just not ready to vote for the party. The rubber stamp image working of Dr. Manmohan Singh has also prodded and propped the above mentioned opinion in the minds of Indian voters. Opposition has also succeeded to a very great extent in piercing this opinion into the minds of young voters and has garnered a good support for them on this basis.
The next thing is the fragile economy which prevailed during the reign of UPA-II. During the UPA-II, the GDP (Gross Domestic Product) fell by a huge extent and inflation was also not very much behind to kill the Congress’s pro-progress image. Ills like inflation, price hikes of petrol, CNG, diesel, problems like inequality and unemployment also have a handsome share in the reasons behind the downfall of the Grand Old Man of India. With low economic growth during the tenure of UPA-II, many people have made their mind to vote for BJP. With huge economic growth in Gujarat, making Gujarat a lucrative and enticing place for business, has also contributed very much to the popularity of Narendra Modi who is known as a progress man in the whole nation due to extensive growth in Gujarat.

The other thing is image of Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi has started ameliorating his image now but still his fame is very low against his competitor Narendra Modi. Rahul Gandhi has not been able to make his image as tough leader. People are very much unhappy with him as he has not been able to make people believe that he is their leader. On some issue like Damini Gangrape, corruption during the Congress tenure, he was completely out of the scene, didn’t even came out to console the rage and resentment among the people of India. On the other hand Narendra Modi is quick and agile at such issues and connects with people through his speeches and can make good votes in the upcoming election.

States are definitely one of the most important parts of India. But Congress has no leaders in states. This is the main problem with INC and many regional parties have come up by getting advantage from the blunder committed by the Congress. Narasimha Rao was a great leader from the state and went on to become the Prime Minister too but today there is a lack of good state leaders in the Congress and due to this it has not been able to reach the grass root level. Today INC definitely needs more and more Raos.

Congress has given nation development but has also provided us with so many scams and bad things to mourn and that’s why today people are looking for better options. Now people have to decide the next thing.

Jai Hind, Jai Bharat
Jai Ma Bharti
