I BOW TO YOU

Today is one of the most prestigious and wonderful day for the in toto India. India is celebrating the 150 birth anniversary of the best and most successful leader, spiritual leader which it gave to the whole world. The only person who carries the real attribute of making hinduism pervade in the whole world.
When Hinduism was obliterating and debilitating day by day, he emerged out as a charismatic orator, who compelled the people through his speeches to regard hinduism and India as the best of their kinds. The one who emerged out and proved that Indians are the best. Indians still relish the fact that this man was born in the Land Of Gods (India) and that man is the one and only Swami Vivekananda, one of the best spiritual gurus ever lived on the "Earth".
Swami Vivekananda was born on 12-January-1863 in Calcutta. His real name was Narender Nath Datta. Born in a Bengali-Kayastha family and was one of the nine siblings. His father Vishwanath  Datta was an attorney in Calcutta High court and his mother Bhuvaneswari Devi was a housewife. His mother was a very pious and religious women and played a major role in Swamiji's penchant towards spirituality.
From the beginning Swamiji Vivekananda had an inclination towards religious things. Swamiji was an average student but a very influencing and mesmerizing reader. His speeches always used to enthrall people. Swamiji portrayed huge interests in subjects like philosophy, history etc. and evinced interests in books like Bhagwad Gita. Ramayana, Mahabharat, Upanishads etc.
In 1879, Swamiji cracked the entrance exam of Presidency College. Swamiji read subjects like Western Philosophy, western logic and history of various European religions in Scottish Church College. In 1881 he passed the Fine Arts examination and in 1884 he completed a Bachelor of Arts degree. Swamiji also studied the works of David Hume, Immanuel Kant, Johann Gottlieb Fichte, Baruch Spinoza, Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, Arthur Schopenhauer, Auguste Comte, Herbert Spencer, John Stuart Mill, and Charles Darwin.
After that Swami Vivekananda  became member of Brahmo Samaj. The teachings of Brahmo Samaj shaped his initial feelings about religion, god etc. After that he met his biggest guru who gave him a new beginning, Saint Ramakrishna.  His first introduction to the saint Ramakrishna occurred in a literature class in General Assembly's Institution, when he heard Hastie lecturing on William Wordsworth's poem The Excursion. While explaining the word "trance" in the poem, Hastie suggested his students to visit Ramakrishna of Dakshineswar to know the real meaning of trance. This prompted some of his students, including Swamiji, to visit Ramakrishna.Image of Swami Vivekananda relaxing in a chair First Swamiji didn't deem Shri Ramakrishna as his guru. He used to think that the ideas of Shri Ramakrishna were mere hallucinations and illusion. The other thing in Brahmo Samaj Swamiji learnt to be against idol worship but Shri Ramakrishna used to worship Goddess Kali. But Swamiji never snubbed Shri Ramakrishna. Swamiji tested Shri Ramakrishna. Every query that Swamiji had was apparently cleared by Shri Ramakrishna.
Suddenly Swamiji got a very major jolt and that shock was his father's demise. After his father's death Swamiji's meeting with Shri Paramhans soared and ultimately Swamiji made Shri Ramakrishna his sole guru and learnt numerous of things from him.
In 1885 Shri Ramakrishna developed throat cancer and was transferred to Cossipore. Swamiji and his other disciples looked after him. Swamiji continued his teaching with Shri Paramhans and carried on taking knowledge from him.  But on 16 August 1886 Swamiji faced one of the worst disasters of his life as his guru forsook him forever to go to heaven.
After the death of Shri Ramakrishna, his devotees abandoned funding the Cassipore Math, so Swamiji along with other disciples of Shri Ramakrishna took a ramshackled house Baranagar on rent and used to pay the rent through begging. Later on the Baranagar house became the famous Ramakrishna Math
After that Swamiji wandered through the whole country. In Northern India he visited places like Ayodhya, Varanasi, Agra, Vrindavan, Rishikesh, Nainital, Dehradun, Haridwar, Merrut and also visited Himalaya.  He next travelled to Ajmer where he visited the palace of Akbar and the famous Dargah Sharif.
In western India he visited Girnar, Kutch, Porbander, Dwaraka, Palitana, Nadiad, Nadiad ni haveli and Baroda.
In Southern India he visited Banglore, Mysore, Trichur, Ernakulam etc.
At Kaithawar Swamiji came to know about the Parliament of World's Religions and was urged by his disciples to go there.  Finally in July 1893 Swamiji reached Chicago, in United States of America to attend he Parliament of World's Religions. But there came a difficulty, no one was accepted as a delegate until and unless a person has credentials from a bona fide organisation. So, he came in contact with Professor John Henry Wright of Harvard University who invited him to speak at the university. On learning that Vivekananda lacked credential to speak at the Chicago Parliament, Wright is quoted as having said, "To ask for your credentials is like asking the sun to state its right to shine in the heavens." On the Professor, Vivekananda himself writes "He urged upon me the necessity of going to the Parliament of Religions, which he thought would give an introduction to the nation."
After that Swamiji gave his well known and one of the most charismatic speeches of the whole world, His Chicago Speech. Swami started the speech by saying "Sisters and Brothers of America". The whole audience applauded and clapped for him continuosly for 2-3 minutes for his these words. After that he gave a short speech. Notwithstanding giving a short speech, he said many great things.
After that the whole world became his fan and wanted to listen to him.
He also went to nations like France, Japan, China, England. Everywhere he used to go, people used to become his admirers. In India whenever he used to travel by trains and buses, people used to stop the vehicle to listen to him. People from every corner of the world wanted to listen to him. This thing proves that he has been one of the best orators of the whole world.

But because of his busy schedule Swamiji developed many ailments like Asthma, diabetes and many others.
On 4 July,1902 Swamiji woke up early in the morning and mediated for three hours. After that he discussed many things with his disciples and at 7:00PM, he went into his room and asked not to be disturbed and died at ten minuted past 09:00 PM. His disciples told that Swamiji attained Mahasamadhi. Swamiji died at the age of 39 and fulfilled his prophecy of not living of more than 40 years.
But this great man will always be in our heart for ever.
 I bow to you Swamiji.
 Jai Hind, Jai Bharat
Jai Ma Bharti.
