Recently as many international conflicts are gaining momentum
in different parts of the planet, India, being a prominent nation, needs to opt
out its stance which it will portray on the international front.
Just as the Moscow and Washington conflicts hit a new high on
the Ukraine’s Crimea crisis and the whole world once again is fearing the
veracity of the world’s falling back into the ditch of a new cold war, India today
needs to devise its strategy according to an ingenious approach in order to be
a successful play at the international stage.
This cold war would definitely not be the same as the last
one. As the bad omens of an upcoming crisis strike the whole world, India needs
to be cleared too about the problems that can shroud the nation if a wrong
choice is made.
First of all, today the cold war is not about nuclear bombs.
Contemporarily even nations like Pakistan boast of a nuclear bomb. The previous
cold war which took place between USSR (Union of
Soviet Socialist Republics) and USA (United States of America)
was more of a show of power from both the nations. Both the nations at that
time were equipped with nuclear power unlike other nations and had animosity
towards each other which finally led to the devastation of USSR. At that time
power was a criterion. Some of the nations slipped to USA while some
collaborated with the USSR. But this time the whole situation is different. At
such a technically advanced time, nuclear bombs hardly matter. Today most of
the nations are completely equipped with such technologies and therefore needn’t
feel the pressure of USA or Russia and therefore this time the war will be much
of influence rather than being of showcasing your power in order to entice
different nations towards you.
The other thing is that today technologically the whole world
is connected with each other. Today even if a small nation is affected, tremors
are felt in the whole of the planet and that’s why this cold war would be of
alignment with other nations. The one which has better ties with others would
surely be the silent winner of the battle. But due to this inter connectivity
many nations would surely feel the problems too. For example, large volumes of
internet data are controlled by United States while Russia provides EU members
with crude oil and many other supplies and this ultimately leads to a dilemma
crowding over the whole situation. Although nations like France and Germany are
with United States today but when the prediction of cold war would start
turning into reality these nations would also feel the heat in choosing from
the two nations and India would also be in a similar situation. Therefore the
new government in the New Delhi needs to make a careful plan to tackle the
problems that can ensue as a consequence and should follow that place to avoid
any last minute dilemma or problem.
