Recently the whole nation got a new, respectable,
intelligent and tough Prime Minister who is neither threatened by the allies
nor by scams and this is what the whole nation has been craving for several
decades and now when the nation has got its leader indeed, then good days are
going to knock the door of India Inc. inevitably.
Recently at the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister
Narendra Modi, heads of various nations were called up to join the ceremony.
Mr. Modi killed two birds with one stone in this process. By calling them to
the nation, Mr. Modi has given a cue to the whole world that Mr. Modi is going
to snatch away good international ties and relationship with the neighbours as
well as other countries. After the swearing in ceremony Mr. Modi also discussed
many matters with different heads of states. A much awaited moment came when
Mr. Modi talked with the Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif on how both
the nations can tackle the cross border terrorism and also talked with Pakistan
on the 26/11 trials of the culprits, on the other hand talked with the President
of Sri Lanka on the safety of Lankans, which is a hot topic between the two
nation and afterwards Mr. Modi talked with other international guests on
strengthening ties with them in the long run.
India framed a very bad image in front of these countries
during the UPA’s stint as the government. India got itself a ‘dominating big
brother image” with these countries and its reluctance to tackle Chinese and
Pakistani issues made the world think that India is incapable to solving these
cross-border issues and hence is inefficient but now the time has come when we
need to vanish out such thoughts about the nation. UPA government lacked any
good foreign policy and therefore ties with these nations were very much
severed but as Modi government has shown some promising signs with a good
agenda, much has been expected from the new government.
First of all the Pakistani issue needs to be tackled.
Infiltration of terrorism through the borders of Pakistan has been a menacing
issue for India. Almost all of the terrorist attacks in India have been carried
out by masterminds residing in the safe terrorist heavens of Pakistan and now
India needs to take serious action against them. The recent meeting between the
Prime Ministers of the nation is in itself a success as Pakistan has given a
friendly reaction to Mr. Modi’s invite by releasing out fishermen of India who
were in the jails of Pakistan and this in itself is a victory for the nation as
on the first day of Mr. Modi’s taking of office, India brought so many sons of
India back to its soil. Similarly some other situations need to be tackled.
India should first of all talk about the security of Indian prisoners in the
Pakistani jails and some harsh issues like the decapitation of its soldiers
through the hands of Pakistani soldiers. Next comes the most crucial thing that
needs to discussed. India should maintain a tough stand against the Pakistani
terrorism. In Pakistan nothing can take place sans the consent of army.
Pakistani PM Nawaz Sharif has to take the permission of army before coming to
India to attend the swearing in ceremony of Mr. Modi and keeping in mind this
thing, India should directly talk to the army of the two countries without
wasting any time. The government should maintain relations with the government
of Pakistan but should be more specific with the army and this can definitely
carve out a way for India to proceed ahead.
The next issue that needs to be tackled is the Lankan issue.
India now needs to talk to Sri Lankan government to safeguard the Indian Tamils
in Lanka and this could definitely help. Despite of creating a logjam between
the two nation and working on the political policy of Southern political
parties India should bury the dead and talk about strengthening the relations.
The arrival of President of Sri Lanka is a good sign in itself with the release
of Indian fishermen by the Lankan forces. Acknowledging all these things, India
should try to break the silence and try to make the relationship between the
two nations successful so that both the nations could progress further. One
more thing to keep in mind is that Sri Lanka is very much closer to India in
terms of geographical boundaries and many nations like China are vying to struck
a good relationship with Sri Lanka to exploit the nation and to advance further
towards India and if India doesn’t ponder over this issue then it can be made
to face a huge loss which would be very despicable for the whole nation and now
the government should there mull over sweetening the ties between the two
nations.
Next important ally to be dealt with is Afghanistan.
Contemporarily Afghanistan is a hotspot of political discussions around the
whole world. Nations like China and Pakistan are poised to exert influence over
Afghanistan after the roll back of the western forces from the region. Many
terrorist groups are also ready to take over the land of Afghanistan after the
retraction of the military forces of USA, UK, France etc. and definitely this
could not be considered safe for the nation and therefore now the Indian
government first of all needs to apprehend the whole situation of Afghanistan
and mend out ways in which it can tackle the upcoming disaster and to
strengthen ties with the Afghan government. Both the nations can play a huge
role in helping each other and I expect that the new government will definitely
look forward as grabbing a harmonious relationship between the two nations.
Now as the new government has set its foot, the time has
come when it needs to think over both national and international issues and I
believe that the new Prime Minister is capable of doing it.
