Degrading environment...

Today, our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi inaugurated a two day conference on environmental issues in Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi and during his speech there, he certainly gave an outright message to the whole world that rather than finding the problems with the system, we should rather focus on solving the ones which exist. “That is because the world is looking at peripheral issues. I have always said the root of the problem lies in changing our lifestyles, in moving away from consumerism. A higher degree of consumerism brings with it greater exploitation of nature. Till we focus on our lifestyles, we will not be able to deal with the problem effectively, despite our best efforts”, Mr. Modi added.
Actually the problem that has devastated the whole of mother earth is of attitude of people regarding the situation that we are facing. If we look on to the past statistics (of ancient India), then we would certainly observe that the problems which we are facing today like global warming, ozone layer depletion etc. never ever existed at that time. There are basically two reasons behind all the notorious transformation through which mother earth has undergone during past 100 years or so.

The first and foremost reason is of attitude. Though most of the activist groups do quote that people are not aware of the situation or about the current condition of but actually the problem lies in attitude, because even those who are well aware of the situation still make no efforts in order to assist mother earth out of the trouble in which it is in and that too just due to we people. If we look on the statistics around the world then disappointingly only 1% of Chinese people today breathe air that is considered “good” by the standards of European Union and from this figure we can surely infer the condition of the world currently. Previously we never encountered such problems because of the attitude only. Our forefathers considered mother earth as even more crucial than any other thing, even Gods and hence they worshipped earth more than anything thereby things like degradation of soil and deforestation but today the attitude of people is just nasty and they consider earth as nothing except something that must be destroyed and nothing else must be done to it and hence today humanity stands on the verge of biggest disaster that is day by day becoming inevitable.

The next thing is of technology. Today advancement and technology are the trademark of this century and flagship of mankind, but somebody has said it correctly that nothing is constant except change. Though we have surely changed, but change has not been complete. We changed things but we never found a substitute to them. We changed ourselves in terms of technology but never thought about environment and how to upgrade it too. We changed but not for good or you can say it has been a suicidal change and surely we need to change, change not for change’s sake but change to endure.

Today we stand on the verge of the greatest disaster the whole humanity has ever seen and hence if we can’t change today then we can’t do it any other time. So just digest this inconvenient truth that now is the time to undergo overhauling.

India's lagging school education system...

Recently  I wrote about why higher education system in India is turning day by day into a fiasco, but if we look at all the aspects then the school’s education system is in a no better situation.
India’s school education system is currently one of the worst in the whole world where students are not taught to dream or experiment but actually are taught to become a rote machine and just feed all the data of their textbooks in their mind.
There are many reasons why the Indian school education system is one of the worst education systems of the world.
Let me give you an example. Currently JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) Advanced is one of the toughest entrance tests in the whole world to get admission in an engineering institute and every year more than a million students take the test. But the main problem is that nowadays, it has become a must to take coachings for the test because in our school system the level of difficulty is almost nil while JEE Advanced is, as I mentioned, one of the toughest engineering entrance tests around the world. Today, that’s why so many coaching institutes have become famous and rich too. These institutes demand lakhs for just around one year of coaching and poor students are just not able to get coaching from these coaching institutes and thereby our school system which never endeavors to induce hard topics, calculations etc. in its syllabus is completely responsible for such deplorable condition of those students who can’t afford to pay for the coaching classes.
The next thing that is eating up whole of the system is of the lack of “good and qualified” teachers. Today India has a lot of teachers but pretty less good teachers. In fact qualified science and mathematics teachers are hard to be found all over the country. The private schools out there don’t want teachers who are good at teaching but rather have a penchant for teachers who demand less salary. Due to such scoundrel practices, the future of thousands of students is destroyed every year. It is actually a teacher who can either make you or break you, and these people just for money are ready to break and tarnish the bright future of thousands of children who are just demanding nothing except education.
Such practices are just annihilating our education system day by day and if things continue like this only then eventually, our lagging education system might be one of the biggest causes behind the downfall of this great nation. Isn’t it embarrassing that once we had Takshila University which was world’s biggest centre of learning and now we are in such a pathos condition.
Today its high time when we realize that compromising with education is nothing short of compromising with the future of the nation and hence today we need to stand up against our poor and ineligible education system.

Delhi in tatters.

A few days back the national capital Delhi was in complete sixes and sevens. As the Delhi government had not disbursed money to the municipal corporations of Delhi (North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC), South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) and East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC)). As the workers were not paid their salaries for around two months, they resorted to protests against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi.
During the protests, a very stupid remark was given by Delhi’s Chief Minister Mr. Arvind Kejriwal that if BJP can’t control municipal corporations then they should handover that work of corporation to AAP’s government in Delhi.
This stupid and misleading statement was given to hoodwink the people of Delhi as well as the workers who were on strike and had made a mess of the whole Delhi by spreading the waste all over the roads. Currently there is a BJP rule in the municipal corporations and hence it is right that it’s the duty of the authorities to give payments to the workers, but what will the authorities do when they are themselves not given funds. Actually, it’s the duty of Delhi’s government to give funds to the municipal corporations for various purposes and the money is included in the National Capital’s budget, but the new “revolutionary” CM of Delhi proclaimed that his government will not give money to the corporations and they must go to the Central government to demand funds. Either the CM doesn’t know the procedure or he is trying to play dirty politics.
Even former Chief Minister of Delhi Sheila Dixit said that it is the sole responsibility of the Delhi government to give money to Delhi’s corporations. The sum that the central government gives to the state in annual budget is used to fund the corporations.
Afterwards too rather than conceding his mistake, Mr. Kejriwal said that center should give more money to him and it’s a BJP’s trick to stop Delhi government from doing welfare works in the state. So let me tell the newly elected Chief Minister that annual budget is not made keeping in mind that other parties’ governments in various states should suffer. Annual national budget is for the whole nation and it will never be made according to the wishes of Mr. Kejriwal. Its his problem how he will fulfill his unreal promises made during the time of election. Central government doesn’t say that electricity, water etc. would all be free.
First of all it’s the state’s government’s duty to fund MCDs (Municipal Corporation of Delhi) so Mr. Kejriwal should stop playing dirty and false politics in the state and the second thing is the promises which he has concocted and promised to the people of Delhi are so much kind of hyperbole and currently they are actually beyond imagination. So rather than passing the blame to central government now, he much understand his responsibility and if he can’t do that, he must feel free to resign.

India's R&D needs help..

Today one of the greatest problems that the whole nation confronts is of lack of a robust and healthy Research and Development (R&D) environment in the whole nation. Even after more than half a century of independence and being counted among one of the biggest economies and rising nations of the world, still we need to export basic ammunition, choppers, fighter jets, submarines, ships and various other things. If we compare India in terms of R&D department with BRICS nations then too we fare pretty miserably spending only 0.87% of our GDP on this crucial industry as compared to Brazil which spend 1.17%, Russia 1.25%, China 1.70% and South Africa 0.93% in the financial year 2009-10.
Though the amount of money being spent in R&D industry has incremented manifold but still we continue to struggle to have a good and confident R&D industry in the nation. Amusingly people can spend Rs. 4000 crores on crackers but when Rs. 450 crores are spent on our space mission, people take a grudge at it saying the money spent could have helped the poor and the needy. Isn’t it disgusting? The sum of Rs. 4000 crores in good because it was spent on petty, low grade and cheap fun but a sum of Rs.450 crore is burden because it was spent to give an impetus to the budding scientists and to plagued Indian space system. What a pity! The thing explains it all.
One of the biggest problems that our R&D industry is facing is clearly of low expenditures by the authority on this vital sector. Our scientists have great plans, wonderful minds and ingenious set up for things, they just need investment in order to arrange for various things need and they can make much better stuff that Russians or Americans (Even American bank of our scientists who constitute 36% of total workforce in NASA). The mangalyaan mission which cost even lesser than a Hollywood film and did its work with utter perfection is a great paradigm which clearly proves that our R&D’s mettle all over the universe. But still, it doesn’t enjoy the amount of confidence and funds that its worth and this is what’s annihilation this humongously worthy industry. This is the reason why we have to approach France, Russia and America for their warfare ammunitions and other materials and those materials which they have themselves stopped using.
Today India stands on a crucial phase in life where we need to make choices, we need to decide priorities and R&D must be our top priority if we want to “Make in India” and to transform our manufacturing sector from mundane to extraordinary.”

Problems with indian education system.

Despite of having a population of 1.252 billion our nations still continues to struggle to scrabble up the leader to be known as the leader of the world and one of the biggest impediments that’s restraining our nation from moving ahead is the sluggish higher education system which has been marring the nation for around 67 years.

If we talk about some recent statistics then India need to move a lot up even to allocate nation with a “good” education system. Currently India is having a workforce of 400 million people out of which 40% are illiterate and other 40% are school dropout with pretty low education level and only around 20% people are well-qualified. Such a low figure clearly signals to the appalling condition of Indian education system. Digging low in the statistics some more horrible facts can be exhumed. Currently there are around 100 million teenagers in the whole nation out of which only 19% enroll in higher education institutes. Out of those 81% around half of the students are those who want to study but can’t go any further because of family problems, societal problems etc. Amusingly out of those 19%(20 million) who enroll for higher studies only 3.5 million students join the workforce each year. The rest (16.5 million) drop out before the completion of courses.

According to the previous statistics, it can be easily deduced that Indian education system indeed lags behind miserably.
If we go according to National Knowledge Commission (NKC) chairman Sam Pitroda then, the first and foremost reason behind such a poor performance of India in terms of providing higher education is the lack of teachers around the nation. Despite of having 26000 colleges around the nation (one of the biggest number of colleges in world), India has a student to teacher ratio of 26:1 which is almost double to that of China. Due to lack of teachers around the nation, millions of students have to compromise with the future.

Now, lack of teacher leads to degradation of quality of teaching. Due to dearth of teachers, a large number of unqualified teacher are made to teach which is itself not short of killing student’s future and this too at last adds up as a great problem which maligns the whole education system of India.

The foreign education providers’ bill of India is too much degraded. When India announced this bill and let universities from around the world to open campuses in India, the idea sounded mush promising but as usual due to red tapes and problems in perfect regulation of things, at last the bill has become a fiasco and big universities have shifted their focus to other nations like China and Singapore.
All these things have added up to fire up the woes of Indian students and forces millions of them either to drop out or to go abroad to continue their studies (which too leads to a huge financial pressure on the student’s family). Today the need of the hour is not to find more and more problems with the system but to find the right remedy to kill the virus which is annihilating everything out there.

With a hope that we would surely look on this important topic with utter care and concern, I end my this article.

Why China leads the way??

One of the biggest ongoing debates of 21st century is which continent would carry the day and emerge out as the most powerful and robust one at the end. Though most of you would say that Asia is the one which is going to lead the future but I believe that the topic of the debate itself is wrong. In this age of belligerence and singularity no one can even think that a continent would move up taking all the nations together and hence it is all actually about “a nation” rather than being about a continent and according to me “China” holds the key to the future.
United States of America and Japan have seen their best days, are currently undergoing their good days but the recent declines in their mammoth economies and the downfall in their overall global positions clearly signify that these two big giants of the world are no longer the ones who can emerge out as “The Great” at the end of 21st century and more or less the whole western world is going through the same condition. Talking about Asia, there is a competition between India and China (not a tough one) in the terms of growth, economy and power. Though both the nations have extreme prowess, great work power (owning to their huge population), and great space for development but surely the management in both the nations is different and in that terms, talking about current circumstance China is far too better than India.
In the year 1987 China had a GDP of 270.4 billion USD while India had a GDP of 283.9 billion USD but if we look on the contemporary measures then China is having a GDP of 9.24 billion USD and India ends up at 1.877 trillion USD. From the year 1987, both the nations had same things, same condition but still China underwent such a huge growth while India didn’t. Why?
The answer to the aforementioned question lies in two important things. The first is fear. China follows a policy of communism which India follows a policy of democracy. In China a growth failure or decline can even lead to death of the communist party there but in India economy’s decline can do nothing rather than making you rest for five years and hence politicians, bureaucrats etc. hardly tried to reform the nation in the fields of manufacturing, development etc. besides having such a huge workforce, potency for development. By this I don’t that communism is better than democracy but surely in Chin, Communism has left the government there with only two choices “Do or Die” and hence China has really matured into a great economy of the world.
China has not only improved in terms of economy but it has reformed in all sectors, national security, healthcare etc. but the growth in these sectors too is a result of Chinese economic growth and Chinese economic growth is nothing but manifestation of its manufacturing sector.
China realized it pretty earlier that western nations have technology but not workforce and China has workforce but not technology, so China innovatively combined the two things together and the product is “Made in China”. Even the gadget with which you would be reading this post would have been most probably made in China. China reformed its manufacturing sector pretty well. Where in India there are so much hindrances, red tapes to do business, on the other hand in China business has been made pretty well and that’s the reason why world’s biggest corporate companies want to make in China. China is giving them cheap labour force and companies are really enjoying it. This leads to a mutual benefit for both. People in China are getting huge employment opportunities while companies are getting their work done at a much lower price. Due to decreasing rate of unemployment more and more Chinese people are coming out of poverty line (actually not by taking poverty line down) and all in all the whole nation is progressing up.
Though Mr. Modi has also proposed this type of strategy but because China has been using it since 1987, it has already set its steps in the area and it would be pretty difficult to beat it up and hence China appears to be the sole winner of the century but still India too carries a lot of potential. India today too has a great and huge workforce craving for work. We need to do the same today what China did years back and results would surely be great. Let’s see if our system is able to do it or not.

Devastating state of Delhi.

A significant number of days or I should say months have passed away since Mr. Arvind Kejriwal was inaugurated as the Chief Minister of Delhi and as per his promise he has indeed changed Delhi. He has actually transformed the whole state. Sans any skepticism now, he is really a guy who can induce a change in the system. Mr. Kejriwal has really changed the system by making it worse and adding fuel to fire to the grievance of Delhiites. He has really changed it all.
Since day one when Mr. Kejriwal took oath as the Chief Minister, he has been able to reign properly neither his own party nor the state of Delhi. For a couple of starting days around 10-15 days, the Chief Minister was absent. Mr. Kejriwal went away to Bangalore to get some medical treatments and while his absence both Delhi as well as AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) were completely torn apart. A stint of stings exposed the party and lucidly made it clear to all that the party hardly has any democracy about which it boasts out in the media. The stings also disclosed to the people of Delhi that Kejriwal has made a fool out of them. The man who confidently said that he was completely opposed to take support from any other party which making government in Delhi is heard (in the audio sting) to be craving to take support from Indian National Congress’ MLA’s in Delhi in the previous assembly elections and amusing just as the tape came out AAP’s spokespersons said that it was just a measure of political realignment and all the parties do it. On one AAP boasts of being somewhat of a miracle and revolutionary and on the other hand in reality they are being a bandwagon by following other and also scoundrel by hiding the actual truth.
The next big thing that came out of the sting was that Mr. Kejriwal who projects himself as a worshipper of secularism, was himself trying to carry out in-toto communalism. In a tape of his conversation with one of his party’s leaders he blatantly blurts out that there is no need to give any candidature ticket to muslims because they, owning to fear can go nowhere than resorting to vote for AAP. Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid had also told the media that he endorsed Kejriwal only after AAP leader got in touch with him and asked him for his support. Something that deserves your attention is that AAP could win such a big tally in Delhi election just because of the muslim votes they garnered up.
After the troublesome period of stings for Mr. Kejriwal, party’s three big leaders Yogendra Yadav, Prashant Bhushan and Shanti Bhushan hailed the next turmoil. A letter written to AAP by Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan was made public and it was completely revealed that AAP faces a complete dearth of democracy. Nobody except Kejriwal has the right to take any decision or to become head of party’s any committee.
While all these things were happening, the one who bear the actual brunt of all such things is the state of Delhi. Corporation in Delhi (MCDs) have not been funded for almost a month. Its responsibility of the state government to fund all these corporations but Mr. Kejriwal has refuted to do so and in an act of utter stupidity has asked the corporation to demand funds from Central government. People working in these corporations have not got their salaries for around two months and have resorted to “dharnas”. The waste pickers have started messing the whole state dumping wastes openly on roads to portray their resentment to Delhi government.
Now Mr. Kejriwal doesn’t talk about CCTV cameras which he promised would be installed all over Delhi, now he doesn’t want to talk about women safety, now he doesn’t want to talk about opening new universities all over Delhi, now he doesn’t want to talk about giving free Wi-Fi to all. Why is now Mr. Kejriwal silent on such crucial issues?
His such a poor performance as Delhi’s CM has compelled the state that it has made a wrong decision, a wrong choice. What we have to see in future is how many more turmoils are to be uncovered in the coming future.
