Expanding Modi government.

Yesterday PM Narendra Modi’s cabinet got to see its first round of expansion which heightened up the number of ministers in the government to a whopping 66.

After forming the government at the center, many of the renowned faces of party were given more than one portfolio to handle and that’s why the government was very lean at the time, but now as time has passes, so have to the needs to enforce the law, order and responsibilities better and hence the Modi-Amit Shah duo has taken the wise step of soaring the number of members of the cabinet.

The portfolios for the new ministers were announced on the Sunday evening. The expansion of the government observed the inducting of 4 new cabinet ministers, 14 junior ministers and 3 with independent. The new ministers who were inducted are the former Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar and former NDA minister Suresh Prabhu, both of them known for their political and administrative acumen, former BJP General Secretary Jagat Prakash Nadda and former UPA minister Choudhary Birender Singh.

Former Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who is known for his exemplary work in his state’s upliftment, was given the fruit of his paradigm work and was given the crucial portfolio of Defense while on the other hand Suresh Prabhu who was a Shiv Sena nominee in Vajpayee Government and joined BJP on the same day of being opted out as the minister. Jagat Prakash Nadda, who has been a Modi-favorite and a lieutenant of Amit Shah was chosen as the Health minister while the former Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan was given the portfolio of Science and Technology. Birender Singh was given the charge of rural department.

BJP’s Rajiv Pratap Rudy who has been an eloquent spokesperson was also given the fruition of his work and he was elected as the minister of state with independent charge of skill development, a portfolio which matters a lot in the Modi government. While Jayant Sinha, son of Yashwant Singh, former Finance Minister, himself a Harvard and IIT graduate, was given the charge of ministry of state for finance. While Mahesh Sharma, was given the independent charge of Tourism and Bandary Dattartreya was given the charge of labour minister.

On the other hand, Sadanand Gowda was shifted from the ministry of Railways to that of law and justice.

Now the Modi government has swelled to the number of 66 and now with so many intelligent and abled ministers, what we have to see is whether the Modi government rises up to live up to people’s expectations or will it be a fiasco. Though there are humongous chances of it being successful but let’s see what happens next in the future.

The battle of Delhi.

Lately the drama shrouding the Delhi politics just got away and the future of the Delhi political ground is slated to be created. After being reprimanded by the Supreme Court of India over the delay in re-elections in the state of Delhi, city’s Lieutenant Governor came into acting and called the majority parties to discuss any prospect of forming the government, all the parties involved rebutted compromising on any terms and hence now elections are soon going to take place very early in the upcoming time and therefore all the parties have jumped to complete showdown.

Just like all other elections in the nation, in this election too, people of the state have hardly any fervor for the already battered and flogged Indian National Congress(INC), so two parties remain in the arena which can clinch the victory, one being the invincible Bhartiya Janata Party(BJP) and the other being Aam Aadmi Party(AAP).

Talking about AAP, in the previous elections people had a lot of zest to vote for the newly founded party. Its leader Arvind Kejriwal was portrayed as a messiah who can take the state out of the shackles of corruption, nepotism etc. and hence Mr. Kejriwal was made CM of Delhi in his first ever election only. AAP came up second to only BJP in the elections on its promises of Jan Lokpal Bill and no corruption in the state, and after being filliped to majority by Congress, AAP elected its members to Delhi government with Kejriwal as the CM of the state. But in just 49 days, the party resigned with so many fiascos in its account. Arvind Kejriwal took so many unbelievable steps like giving humongous subsidy in electricity and water bills that if these schemes are applied, the state can fall into an unrecoverable debt. While his inability to stop crimes in the states and his demonstrations on road against Central government marked the end of his wave and this was clear from the result of Lok Sabha election in which his party was dashed to the ground and following this many of his important colleagues also forsook the party because of dictatorial style of Arvind Kejriwal and all this led to complete tarnishing of the AAP brand.

Where on one hand, the AAP was nosediving to the nadir, BJP clung to the pinnacle of success getting a complete majority in Lok Sabha election with the assistance of the Modi wave and after that too winning crucial states like Haryana and Maharashtra with majority in the assemblies and forming its own government. BJP has also evolved itself much in Delhi. The party’s progressive image can herald many votes for the party and presence of its government at the Center is also conducive to votes from those sections of Delhi who want a sanitized, technologically advanced Delhi. The youngsters in the state who did great work in helping the BJP win the Lok Sabha elections from the state are still up there for the Modi wave and the campaigns like “Swaach Bharat Mission” are also going to attract the voters to press the Lotus button in the ballot.

Taking about areas which have a majority of minority communities, BJP has also garner many votes from such areas too. People from these areas voted for the party during the Lok Sabha elections and are also supposed to repeat the same deed again. And if we glance upon the economically weaker section’s votes then the party is trying to project Udit Raj, Member of Parliament from Northwest Delhi, as its Dalit face and hence the party is sure to bag many votes from this section.

Above all of this, there is Modi wave. Mr. Modi is surely going to campaign in the state for the elections and his Modi wave still holds the power that it had during the Lok Sabha elections and can sweep it all to victory easily sans much effort.

Though BJP is very much sure of its victory in the state, we have to watch out for what’s in the heart of the people of Delhi. Let’s see the result of the ballot.

Will J&K come up?

Today, on one side Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) is there which is on a winning spree and on the other hand there is the state of Jammu and Kashmir which is soon going to cast the ballot to choose its new government and what the whole nation wants to see is whether BJP can pen down history or will it be something more intriguing.

Recently the Modi wave in the nation swept the states of Maharashtra and Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir is one to watch out for.

Jammu and Kashmir is India’s most distinguished, different and tumultuous states which is in toto different from all other states in the nation and article 370 and the state’s enhanced and extended autonomous rights exacerbate the situation more.

Till now the state has never seen a BJP government. Previous parties took advantage of the fact that the state is a muslim dominated one and terrified the people of dire consequences which could take place if BJP is elected to power and after winning elections such scoundrels used to do nothing in order to mend the state’s affairs. Despite of the fact that the whole state is very much crucial to the Indian subcontinent and the intrusion activities of Pakistani forces, the wrong deeds of separatist groups, the previous governments never thought of doing anything for the betterment of state. They just continued to garner their vote bank of Muslims in the state.

Riots which regularly take place in the state, many unethical terrorist activities, regular bombing of state through various terrorist organisations etc. has marred the whole state and the lack of infrastructure and development has exaggerated the whole situation for worse and now thereby the people of the state are very much curious and hopeful of observing a change in the state which would lead them to success and prosperity and to make this happen there is no better option than that of Bhartiya Janata Party.

The party’s track record of development in various states if exemplary. The party can do many things in order to redux the state’s infrastructure, road network, railway services and many other services in order to overhaul it into a modern state.

The second thing is that BJP’s government at the center has been very proactive in checking terrorism and riots and this is all what the state wants. For around 67 years, the state has been regularly terrified and petrified by terrorist activities and the apathy of previous government’s did nothing rather than making the situation worse. Regular intrusion by Pakistani troops and terrorists is also a major security problem and therefore something needs to be done to rectify the lapse and this can be done by BJP.

Now, there is again a big test in front of the MODI wave and that is the Jammu and Kashmir. Let’s see whether Modi tsunami will work or not.

Easing it all.

As soon as the Modi government came in power, the new NDA government adopted a much needed, favored and requisite policy. The policy of making things easy. India today is known for all of its hard things, whether it’s about making investments, doing business, starting companies etc. everything you do here comes under the hardest category according to the world.

In business doing, we fare a low 142 according to World Trade Organisation, the procedures for starting companies, selling your innovations etc. are more than complex in our nation and the corruption and scoundrel people in all this things exacerbate the labyrinth making things more and more convoluted.

Besides such things, our law procedures are also very much notorious. People here, get jailed for crimes they never undertook while those who do it, get the orders of imprisonment after around decades of their death.

 More than 31.3 million cases remain pending and everything seems like an unsuccessful tryst with the law and Indian judiciary is turning itself into a blot and stigma in the name of the judicial processes itself. Let’s not talk about it and get to the main point of the government’s efforts of making things easy.

Albert Einstein, the Nobel Prize winning physicist, once quoted ingeniously that

“Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and complex, it takes a touch of genius and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction.”

From day one, Mr. Modi has embarked on Einstein’s quote and has started making things easy. First he gave instruction to all the officials to rectify all the forms and every documents so as to make things easier in government offices. Then he kick started his “Make In India” campaign in India which is meant to ease the process of investment and doing business in the whole nation. Now many new entrepreneurs can easily start their business by just talking with government officials directly and by taking their help if needed. When Mr. Modi was in United States of America, he averred in the Madison Square Garden that the previous governments used to work to make things complex but he takes pleasure in making things easy.

The same Mr. Modi is doing with the law of the nation. You would be amazed to know that in India, there are laws which were made even before world war-II and before Indian independence but still these obsolete laws have never been scrapped off and that’s why the new government set up commissions to give government reports on laws that need to be repealed. A law commission headed by Justice A P Shah submitted its report to the government on 3^rd November too, which asked the government to repeal 73 more redundant laws in order to make the procedure of law in India better taking the total number of such laws to 258. One of the acts which is asked to repeal ensures punishment for those who try to dissuade people from fighting with Britishers in their wars. Another law, was enacted before World War-II.

Amusingly nobody ever noticed such horrible things in our justice system and such things continue to gather up in a pile making the law procedures more difficult and inefficacious too.

This effort by Modi government is surely laudable and the whole nation needs to extol it. Hope that under this government our judiciary can improve and enhance its horizons.

Modi wave advancing

Today we stand in an epoch where the whole political scenario of the nation has been changed. At a time where Narendra Modi is the monarch of Indian politics, winning almost every state where he goes to campaign and with majority too. He has surely wreaked havoc on other parties who before him used to rule the nation citing lack of any good ruler in BJP but with the rising of Modi to power, everything seems changed. Today Congress lacks a leader and BJP has nothing but a leader and this surely is pretty much amusing.

With victories in states of Maharashtra and Haryana and even forming government on its own, BJP’s flagship Modi has shown the strength of a true leader. Modi’s campaigning skills along with his companion Amit Shah have made all other parties tremble. Congress never had a state leader and elections were won on the name of the Gandhi family. Previously this used to be the strength of Indian National Congress but today it is Congress’s biggest woe and fragility and BJP has learnt how to take advantage of it all. Today, the people of the nation are impressed with the records of Mr. Modi on the national front and BJP has state leaders like Shivraj Singh Chauhan of Madhya Pradesh and Raman Singh too who have done tremendously great work in their states.

In Haryana and Maharashtra BJP has formed the government with majority crashing all other parties in the competition.

 In Bihar, BJP has never formed a government of its own and that’s why has a great chance of people giving nation’s biggest party its first chance in the state and the turnout that occurred in Lok Sabha elections also cue a great success of this prospect.

Talking about Uttar Pradesh, probably India’s most vital state in term of politics, winning assembly elections in the state matters a lot too. Though in the Lok Sabha election Modi got to win a great humongous majority in the state but the assembly elections are going to be tough. With Mayawati again, taking his dalit support base up and Mulayam Singh Yadav playing the Muslim card, Modi needs to be wary of the state otherwise BJP would again fall out.

In Delhi, as BJP has rebutted making government without complete majority, elections are soon going to be declared. With diminished influence of Congress and a tarnished image of Aam Aadmi Party, BJP is sure to clinch the state without much problems.

Though in southern states BJP has a very diminutive influence but still Modi is trying to influence further in Congress-run southern states and is trying to establish his own party in the states.

Talking about Bengal, Modi campaigned in the state during Lok Sabha elections but still BJP needs to do a lot in the state and has a greater opportunity too. With depreciation of Bengal during the reign of Mamata Banerjee and devastation of the state during the government of left BJP surely can do something remarkable in the state and hence Modi needs to work hard in the state too.

Though Amit Shah and Narendra Modi have been able to get great victories in many states but many states are there in which BJP is not even counted as competitors and the duo need to check it.
